Uxbridge District Court

The Uxbridge District Court serves the Blackstone Valley towns of southern Worcester County, along the Rhode Island border, and its docket includes the motor vehicle and OUI cases that a state-line corridor produces, often against out-of-state drivers. The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office prosecutes here, and for an out-of-state defendant the license and record consequences follow them across the state line into their home jurisdiction. Attorney Joe Serpa defends each case with those consequences in view and, where the rules permit, appears so that an out-of-state client does not have to keep returning.

Before accepting any plea offer in this court, it is worth understanding what it takes to get a Massachusetts case dismissed and why a real dismissal matters more than a plea that is not a conviction.

Location and Access. The Uxbridge District Court, 261 South Main St., Uxbridge, MA 01569, sits on Route 122 near the Rhode Island line, with free parking available. The court’s phone is (508) 278-2454.

OUI, Motor Vehicle, and Out-of-State Defendants. The Route 146 and Route 122 corridors to Providence feed the OUI and motor vehicle docket, much of it against Rhode Island drivers, with the four-day citation rule governing the cases that begin without an arrest.

Drug and Search Litigation. The court carries drug matters litigated at the suppression stage by motion to suppress, common on a corridor where car stops drive the docket.

Domestic Violence Calendar. The court runs its domestic violence and 209A sessions, defended as one coordinated matter.

The Clerk-Magistrate Session. The court’s summons docket is screened at the show cause hearing under G.L. c. 218, § 35A, where a denial ends the matter with no record.
