Free parking is available to the public. Newburyport station on the MBTA Newburyport and Rockport commuter rail line is about half a mile from the courthouse.

The Ipswich District Court is a small North Shore court, sitting in the Newburyport courthouse, that serves four quiet, low-volume towns where most defendants have never faced a criminal charge and the record is the whole concern.
